A Community of North Bengal CBSE Schools

Introduction

The North Bengal School Sahodaya Complex was established in Siiguri on 19th February 2011. The CBSE Schools of the region felt the urgent need to build a community of schools that would be built on the CBSE Sahodaya motto of "Sharing and Caring". A meeting was organised at the Sinclair's Hotel and well attended by prominent schools of the region and thus the seeds were sown for the Siliguri Schools Sahodaya Complex. Under the able leadership of the first President, Dr. B.B. Chauhan, (Principal, BSF Sen. Sec. School, Kadantala) and Secretary, Dr. S.S. Agarwal (Principal, Siliguri Model High School (Sen. Sec), Siliguri) The number of schools in the Sahodaya grew quickly and soon schools from over 200kms away joined the complex and strengthened it. It seemed only fitting that the name of the Sahodaya be changed to the North Bengal School Sahodaya Complex in order to demonstrate the strength and extent of the Sahodaya. This change in name came about in a meeting on 10.2.2013.

The Motto

The term "Sahodaya" means "to help".  The motto of all Sahodays is to " Share and Care" for each other. The schools under this umbrella take great pride in helping one another whenever they are in need. They do their best to promote the cause of education by helping students, teachers and Principal's interact on a platform that enables them to improve in all spheres - Academic, Knowledge, Sport and Activity, thus creating an improved educational atmosphere in the schools.
