13th Meeting of NBSSC
The 13th Meeting of the NBSSC was held at Doon Heritage School in Champasari. The Meeting was highly constructive and well attended. A tentative calendar of events to be conducted by the Sahodaya was made and will shortly be circulated to all the members.
Foundation Day Celebrations of NBSSC at Birla Divya Jyoti School on 19.2.13
The Foundation Day of the NBSSC was celebrated at the Birla Divya Jyoti School Auditorium on 19.2.13 in grand style. The celebration opened with the lighting of the lamp and a note of welcome by the President, Dr.S.S.Agarwal and the host Principal, Mrs. Shweta Tiwari. This was followed by a colourful cultural programme with students of member schools putting up items of dance, song and drama. The kaleidoscope of dances ranged from folk dances to Rabindra Nritya to hip hop. Some dramas chose themes of patriotism while others were satires, pointing out the foibles of society. Other performances items left the important message of peace and harmony in the country while some inspired us to protect the environment. The programme ended with the felicitation of Principal's of member schools for their valuable service to the Sahodaya in the session 2012-2013. A vote of thanks was delivered by the Secretary which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The Sahodaya would like to put on record their appreciation for the hospitality displayed to all the Principals and students by the host Principal, Mrs. Shweta Tiwari and to the students of Birla Divya Jyoti School for making all the participants of the function feel welcome and comfortable as well as for the wonderful lunch provided. We hope that this event becomes even better in the years to follow.
Girl's Throwball Tournament:
Royal Academy, Siliguri, one of the NBSSC members held a Throwball Tournament for Girls on 23rd January 2013. Seven Sahodaya Member Schools participated in the event. The final was played between Jermel's Academy, Siliguri and Delhi Public School Siliguri. Jermel's Academy were the eventual winners of the tournament.
The tournament was very well organised by the host school. The Secretary, Dr. S.S. Agarwal inaugurated the tournament with words of advice on games and sports developing the character of students. Mr. Arindam Chakraborty, Principal of Royal Academy promised to make the tournament an annual affair and hoped that there would be even greater participation in the second edition of the tournament.
North Bengal Sahodaya School Complex Meeting at G.D.Birla School, Siliguri
The Meeting of the erstwhile Siliguri Sahodaya School Complex was held at G.D. Birla School. Siliguri on 10.2.13. It was presided over by the President, Mr. S.P.Das, Principal of Delhi Public School, Siliguri. The members at the meeting unanimously elected the new office bearers for the 2013-2014 session. They are as follows.

Secretary: Mrs. Sonika Sharma (Principal, G.D.Goenka Public School, Siliguri)
Joint Secretary: Mr. Arindam Chakraborty (Principal, Royal Academy, Siliguri)
Treasurer: Mrs. Archana Sharma (Principal, Hindi Balika Vidyapith, Siliguri)

North Bengal School Sahodaya Complex at the National Sahodaya Conference, Indore.
Mrs. Sonika Sharma, Principal,G.D.Goenka School, Siliguri represented the NBSSC at the national Sahodaya Conference at Indore. Mrs. Sharma claimed that it was a great learning experience for her and shared her experience with the members of the Sahodaya.
